Surgery Day: A Chapter of Healing

Today, I am having surgery at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. I have a range of emotions, nervous, hopeful, and a little scared—but above all, I feel grateful that this time has finally come. After months of discomfort and knowing something wasn’t right with my body, I finally had answers and a plan.

During my myomectomy, my doctor removed three fibroids, one large fibroid measuring about 8 cm and two smaller ones around 2 cm each. Hearing those numbers made me realize just how much space these growths had taken up in my body and how deeply they had been impacting my daily life.

The surgery was not easy, but it gave me a sense of relief and hope that I hadn’t felt in a long time. For me, this step was more than just removing fibroids, it was reclaiming my health, my comfort, and my peace of mind.
